My pastor talked to his wife and a week before camp started she took me on a Roman Reigns wreck everyone and leave shirt. We got lunch and visited a bunch of clothing stores in our small town, and just had girl time for a full day, all expenses paid by her (probably by the church now that I think about it haha.) Looking back I remember we had a good time, and even though I was still bummed out about having to go to what I saw was a waste of time and energy camp, I was ever go grateful for the gesture, and still am. Even though it wasn’t the solution to my problem, it was still a wonderful, heartfelt gesture, and probably the nicest gesture of kindness I had received in a long time at that point in my life. I’ll never forget that. It didn’t solve my problem but it did make me feel somewhat special and helped me realized that even if people didn’t understand me or my issue, they still cared.
